There should be a law against...

Stocking Christmas goods before the holiday season.
It's September for fuck's sake. There's already selection boxes and tiny chocolate Santas roaming the shelves of Tesco. Every year, this happens, and every year I get angry. This year however, is the first time I've written it down.

There are now 97 days until Christmas. Surely we don't need that long to go and buy stuff? If Christmas is stretched over 3 months, the entire thing loses some of its speciality. "It's the season to be jolly", well when exactly is this "season"? Some shops seem to think it begins with October and ends with January. I'd like to think it's more or less the month of December. But that's just me of course.

The point is, I do not want to be walking around, minding my own business to be bombarded with Santas, snowmen, reindeer and all the rest during AUTUMN. It's not even Winter! Of course, it only really goes into overdrive after Halloween. That being said, although Tesco has Christmas stuff already, I didn't see a single thing for Halloween.
Odd.

So Tesco managers nationwide, if you're reading this...KEEP THE CHRISTMAS CRAP UNTIL CHRISTMAS, ASSHOLES.
Kthxbi. =]

Cooking fail.

Literally.
After spending a half an hour trying to find out how to cook chicken, I'm told that I could just stir-fry it in a pan. -_-
THEN I get some rice and rinse it in cold water. As I do so, I think that it doesn't look much and that maybe I should open a new packet. I do.
Few minor setbacks, no biggie.
I boil the rice, leave it "to simmer for 15 minutes" . Great.
Read the instructions on the sauce..."Pour over chicken after it has browned. Simmer for 15 minutes". Perfectly timed.
With both things simmering nicely, I turn on the oven to heat the bread. It's done heating when there's about 6 minutes to go for the other two. Great. The bread heats in 5.
4 minutes later...
Now let's sieve and rinse the rice in boiling water...there's an awful lot of it. I don't need this much, surely?
Things start to go downhill.
No matter, I'll just have some spare, is all.
Now, the chicken, looking great. Smelling appalling. Whatever, it's probably supposed to.
CRAP I've left the bread in too long. Ah, there, I've snatched it out. Seems okay.
Now, for the tasting...
Ew. Soggy rice. Overcooked.
Chicken: tough, still smells like dirty socks.
Bread: burnt.

Dinner: ruined.

Zara hates...

technology!
I also ♥ technology. Oh what I wouldn't give to have the latest and greatest editing software at my disposal.
I just happen to be dirt broke. Fuck.
So there I am, fighting the good fight, trying to cope with Windows Movie Maker. I finally get a video camera of my own and what happens? Its videos are a file type that Movie Maker does not like. What to do, what to do...
I know! Google. The solution to all of life's problems.* Right, let's get typing..."movie maker .mov". Search. Ah! Here's something that could help...a website that labels itself as a geek-filled answering pit (or something of the like). This sounds promising. As I scroll down through the thread I see it: "Windows Live Movie Maker accepts .MOV files, it's only a few days old". PERFECT!
Naturally, at this point I think that all my problems are solved. I'm home scott-free! I go to the website, download the file, execute the installer, open it up and BAM! I can't understand a thing.

Go ahead, call me stupid, I don't disregard this fact. I just don't get this thing at all. I never dreamed I'd say this about technology, but for once, it's too simple. I just cannot get my head around it. I'm sure in a few months time I'll have gotten the hang of it, but by then I'll expect a plethora of updates will have come out and I'll still be left behind.
Damn.

*Except not really. =]

It really is the little things that make life awesome.

I mean just consider it. There are so many small things that can happen during a normal day that don't seem so great when you look at them individually, but really they do give small doses of happiness throughout the average day. It's probably what gets us through when you think about it.
Just look at this list for example:
-Drinking a hot beverage
-Your favourite song coming on the radio
-You find a euro/pound coin, (whatever) on the ground
-The rain stops long enough for you to pop out to the shops
-There's just enough milk left for your bowl of cereal
-You come across an old picture with a happy memory attached
-This week's ironing is done and the thought of having to do it isn't raining on your parade
-Someone smiles at you as you walk down the street
-Your favourite food is on special offer at the supermarket
-You try to find something and end up finding something you've been missing for ages instead

See what I mean? All of these things and more can contribute positively to one's day. They can put a smile on your face, even if it's only a small one. It's little things like this that make days bearable. At least I think so.

I WANNA BE WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE

I wanna see, wanna see 'em dancin'!

Yayz. ^_^ Ariel moment.

Well this is one of those happy but bored times. Kinda weird mood too. It is also the first day of the *NEW AND IMPROVED BLOG OF MEEEE* So woohoo! Teehee.
Right now it's 2:12 and I just realised I've only like a month of Summer left. Not a very nice thought. =S Bleh.
On a lighter note...I GOT WELLIES. ^_^! They're prettyful too. =]

So, I'mma just wrap this up now. Bai. x
